Onchain identity and votes

Acta Markets uses ERC-8004, an open standard with public registries on Robinhood Chain. The assets are onchain, so the reputation of the people writing about them is too.

Every press is an identity

When a publisher mints a press, it's registered in the identity registry as an NFT owned by the publisher's wallet. The token id is the press's id everywhere: on the site, in the API and in payments.

The NFT points to a small metadata file:

json
{
  "type": "acta-markets/press@1",
  "name": "The headline",
  "description": "The free preview",
  "url": "https://actamarkets.io/press/the-headline-12",
  "stock": { "symbol": "TSLA" },
  "publisher": "0x…",
  "priceUsdg": "0.5",
  "contentHash": "0x…",
  "audit": { "verdict": "approve", "score": 90 }
}

contentHash is a fingerprint of the full text, set when the audit approves it. If the text changed afterwards, the fingerprint wouldn't match.

Because the press is a real NFT, ownership is real: payments for a press go to whoever owns it.

Votes are onchain feedback

A vote is a call to the reputation registry, sent by the voter's own wallet:

FieldValue
agentIdThe press id
value+1 for an upvote, -1 for a downvote
tag1Optional: accurate, well-sourced, insightful, misleading, outdated, biased
endpointThe press's URL

Rules:

  • Anyone can vote. You don't have to buy the press.
  • The voter pays gas. It's tiny, but it makes mass fake voting cost real money.
  • One vote per wallet per press counts. Vote again to change it; the latest wins.
  • Publishers can't vote on their own press. The registry itself rejects it.

Votes live in a public registry that Acta Markets doesn't control, so they can't be edited or removed by us. Other apps can read them too.

How the site counts votes

After your vote confirms, the site reads the transaction from the chain and updates the counts. The publisher's own wallet is always left out.

A publisher's reputation

A publisher's record is the sum of their presses: audit scores, votes and tags, and how each press's stock token moved after publishing. All of it is tied to a wallet, not to a name that can be changed.

Nothing published on Acta Markets is investment advice.
